An Old Time Adventure

Posted by Picasa

The Fort Adventure

Here we are at a Fort in our area. It was a beautiful sunny day and Justin decided on a whim that he needed to show us around. So we packed a picnic lunch, as we often do, and hopped in the car and were off for an old time adventure. The Fort was amazing. There is still one of the oldest building there from the original Fort in it's authentic white wash. The boys ofcourse had an agenda...The Black Smith's Shop. They wanted to make a "J" hook. So we went over and learned about making nails...LOL! More to come on that later...da da daaaa!
So we panned for gold. Checked out some of the way the explores would have lived. Went to a Wedding (play) and learned how the Natives married the soldiers and why. We learned that women are the reason The Hudson Bay Company started and that without us the fort and it's men would have never survived. The boys barrel races, and carried bails. We checked out the Big House and then back to the Black Smith were, YES! The boy actually got to make there very own "J" hook. With a little help from the Smithess...and for a trade of fruit snacks they got to keep it and bring it home. What could be any better!

Adam's Guitar (Gr. 6)

I love the sound of an acoustic guitar. Adam has started to play. He is quite good and has a very powerful strum, which makes a very beautiful sound. I love how the sound echos down the hall and down the stairs to where I am sitting at the kitchen table having my tea.
I see how he is getting confident in his playing and in himself. He is learning to play "Have a Nice Day" by Jon Bon Jovi. Can you imagine...with all the artists out there today he loves U2 and Bon Jovi. Truely classic artists for my husband and I. I enjoy watching him play so much I forget to grab my camera and get him in action. There are just somethings you have to see with you own two eyes and not just through the lense of the camera. I am very proud of Adam's playing and how excited he is to go to his music teachers house. Adam can't wait to get an electric guitar...we'll see:o) It has be so intersting watching his come into his own thing this year. How he is changing into this little man. Getting ready for middle school...YIKES! So for know I will relish in the echoing sounds of guitar in my house and smile at the way he brings music to my heart. I love you my Adam!

13 yrs

I was looking back at all my pics and was thinking of all the wonderful memories I have...WE have. My husband and I are celebrating our 13 yr of marriage this month. A lot of people "oooo...13", but I say, "Ya! Wahoo!.." . 13 is my lucky number and I am loving being married and having a family and sharing my life. It's been a heck of a ride and a whirl wind for sure, but I wouldn't change a thing. My husband loves me more than you could ever know and I love him just the same.
The picture on the right was taken on one of our many outdoor adventures. Jay found this stone and carved our intials into it and placed it on this stump. I love it! It reminds of a poem he once wrote me..."Roses are red, Violets are blue, it's official between me and you" and he signed it " I-L-Y". Which ment I love Y..yellow, yogurt, whatever started with Y. Only because we had just started dating and thought how could I love someone this much so early, but it is what it is and it has lasted for 13+ yrs and I justed wanted to take a moment and cherish my hubby. I Love You! With all my heart, for all my life....ALWAYS.

Friends at the River

What a wonderful way to end the day. Adam decided it was time for him and Justin to break out there bikes and go for a ride. So Jay got them all ready and off we went. Through the secret passage way to "Narnia" and out onto the street, where we dream of houses and trailers and what the future will bring. Through passage #2 and up onto the trail. Most of the time our boys get along...I mean there brother's and boys will be boys, but you get them out on the trail and something amazing happens. They become best friends. Using there imagination, talking about school, the video game they played that morning, and what they will do when we get home. Then there is that famous question..."remember that time?". They laugh and act silly and sometimes when we're walking they walk arm in arm. That reminds me I'm doing a good job.
Today was really no different, but on bikes while Jay and I walked behind listening to them chat and chat ourselves. Except on the way home we past the farm that we always pass and normally the donkey's are in the field "HeeeeHaaaawing", but today there were horses, cows, and 3 baby calves. We usually see calves at Nana and Papa's farm, but today they were right here in the city...on a farm. The little baby calf was right up at the fence and ofcourse my animal lover Adam had to go down and try and feed it. He loves animals soooo much! Next thing you know the horses came over, too. Why bend over when someone will hand the grass right to you?! It was AWESOME. Even Adam said so...."That was the best!"
Once again it reminds me to be thankful for all the little moment life brings to us. How we are so lucky to live in a city that's a country town. How I have the best of both worlds. These are the moments when Life Whisper's.....

Renae

This is Ethan's new baby sister Renae. She is the sweetest little thing. She seemed so happy just beginning moved around and posed. I love the feel of that soft baby skin. Tiny tiny toes. There clenched fists. Babies are just precious. A new beginning. Babies remind us what love really can do....

Ethan

This is a wonderful picture of the cutest little man and new big brother..Ethan. He just walked over to the window like I'm sure he often does and assumed the position. I loved all the little finger prints on the window, which represented all the times he saw something he just had to point out to his mommy. I love the way the tree is blurred in the back ground. So pieceful and willing to share the view with this curious little man. I feel so blessed to be able to capture these moments....

Vancouver Harbour May 10, 2010

This was a lovely Mother's Day weekend. I was surprised with a get away with my BFF's family. "Pack your bags Honey, we're heading to the city!" How exciting!!!!

We had the most fabulous weather and we enjoyed it. Swimming in the outdoor pool...even getting some sun on our faces. The breeze was right off the ocean and so refreshing. We could hear people passing by and chatting as my friend and I chatted and bathed in the sun on our loungers. We all walked the harbour and enjoyed watching the kids run and find park art. There are many kinds of interesting people when you go to the city. There are
people riding BMX bikes and doing jumps, dog owner walking all sorts of dogs. We even saw a dog wearing a pink dress and pink runner's...YES! runners on all 4 paws. Adam loved that little poodle. I can't tell you the last time a saw anybody dressed PUNK, but we did...1 side of the head shaved and all...hair dyed, too. I can't tell you how many starfish we saw and all the colors that they are. Marissa had so much fun starfish hunting. There were tourists and photographers...and families. The harbour life is amazing. All the beautiful boats/ships...the life of a dreamer and some living the dream.
Our husbands had great talks. Some about work and some about life....
D and I we chatted, but less than we normally do...we were so relaxed enjoying the day and everything it held.
We looked forward the the meals we wouldn't have to cook and the blessing we have as we shared in drinks and enjoyed the view from the 14th floor of our hotel room....thinking....aaahhh! This is the life!

Our Dogs...

Our Little Doggies...no dogs have ever been so loved. The brown weinie is Daisy. Adam loves her because of her big eye balls. If you could hear it in the voice he says it in, you would roll your eyes and laugh, because it is simply adorable. The mop headed one is Brady. He's our #1 dog... mostly cause he's our 1st dog. Adam loves Brady, because he has a little purple nose. (imagine the same voice and just as cute:) These are the dogs my boys love...well Adam loves them the most. He misses them when we go on holidays and leave them behind. He says good morning to them like the first day we brought them home. A dog or 2 dogs could never be loved more!Posted by Picasa

I just love a beautiful sunny day at the lake. So many families were out today. Enjoying either a play at the park or little ones wading in the lake waters edge. I saw an older couple sitting side by side on a bench, enjoying the view of the snow topped mountians and a canoer on the lake coming to shore. We enjoyed a lovely day watching our kids skipping rocks, running on the docks and walking down the shore.

That is were I found these canoes hanging out. Waiting to go on the water.

As we were heading back to the car ready to hit DQ for a yummy Blizzard treat, the boys climbed this tree and I snapped this shot. PERFECTION!

Yesterday my boys were out adventuring around the dirt pile in our neighbourhood and they came across this snail, while Adam was looking for sticks to widdle with his new Swiss Army Knife. Justin named the snail...shell-don...lol!

My 12 year old gets his 1st pocket knife. Man oh man...he's growing so fast. Turning into a little man right before our eyes. He is so passionate about things he loves. So responsible for the things that matter most. He is an amazing young man and watching him grow and change, especially this last year has been such a joy.

Chocolate Bunny

Here is Justin...just waiting to take the 1st bite.
An early easter morning with the smell of chocolate in the air. We had to get up and start the hunt for eggs. So it began. Happy Easter to everyone! I hope it was as full of family as mine was.

Nose Bubbles

This is a really fun shot! My little man loving the water and showing me how he can blow nose bubbles.
This was a great day. Sunshine and snacks at the beach. Friends to hang with...Our 1st camping trip to Christina Lake. The weather was amazing! I watched my boys enjoy there vacation, swimming with there dad in the abyss...which was the deep water...the unknown. It was amazing how they bonded with the wonderful family who took us on this wonderful adventure.

Brothers

I really adore this photo. If you look really close you can see the love Justin has for Adam. There is a little curl in his cheek as he looks up to his older brother.
I really like how the sun is just coming down on the distant mountians and how the rays of God are there to say "Good Night"...it was a beautiful evening. The feel of cool sand on your feet after a hot day of body surfing and wave jumping. It reminds me how important time with your family is and the memories we are giving our kids to pass on to there's and something to hold onto when we're gone.

Happy Spring

We rang in the spring with my youngest sons 10th Birthday.
It's been such a lovely weekend. I really enjoy the nice weather, especially in our neighborhood. Our little community is so unique. We are in close quarters here and on lovely days the kids come out and the parents come out and we visit and plan summer adventures. It's great to just pull up a chair and see the kids riding bikes and skate boarding...or a little game of street hockey...or even a 1 on 1 Bball game. Listening to the kids cheering on each other or making rules as the go...these are the things the sunshine brings...Happy Spring!

Little Red Barn

As I drove past this barn as I have for the past 3 yrs, this day unlike any other. Except that the ground had been kissed with snow. Everything was white and bright and here was my little red barn. So beautiful in the partial sun light. A dash of snow covering the tire tracks leading up to it. The snow so perfectly shaded by the trees and the barn in all it's boldness...beautiful!

My Sunshine

This lovely girl is my BFF's oldest daughter. We were having a lovely family evening together and decided to go for a walk at one of our favorite places. Of course I took my camera along. With the opportunity of catching her or her little sister doing something special.
Little Miss found this beautiful leaf and well when a moment is perfect...well it's just perfect, so that's how this picture came to be. The wonder of a child is amazing!!!

Remembering Summer 2009

We are so fortunate to live in such a lovely place like British Columbia. Last summer the weather was so HOT and we spent many of those hot evenings down at the river. We went swimming and jumping off an abandoned tree that had come from somewhere up stream and landed in the perfect spot for all to enjoy.
So this picture is of Justin standing at the edge deciding if he's just going for it or wading in....tough call. Even though you are extremely hot, the water is extremely chilly.
I love this picture because it just says SUMMER and what that summer was to us. Family time and making new discoveries in the place we live. It was also about trying something new. Enjoy!

Hello Everyone....
I am very excited to be starting this adventure. I have decided that in my 35th year of being on this planet ...well 34 and 1/2...snicker....that my time is now!
So here I am with my wings spread open and I am ready to fly.

I am a mom of 2 boys, age 12 and very soon to be 10. They are my inspiration. They keep me young and remind me to use my imagination. Which I think helps me take better pictures.

I am aspiring to hone in on my talent and take chances.

I'd like to thank all of the wonderful people who have let me take pictures of there children or families....you were excellent practice. Now it is time to get moving on my dream.

I hope you will enjoy the journey as I continue to capture the moments when Life Whisper's...
